Every fall, Shacksbury forages for the feral, wild, or otherwise forgotten fruit of rural Vermont. Along narrow country roads and in overgrown old orchards, they seek out apples that have the tannins and flavors — rare in most commercially grown fruit — to ferment into excellent hard cider. These forgotten apple trees are decades, and sometimes centuries, old. This is the Lost Apple Project, and when the trees are harvested, Shacksbury is tapping into the long and deep tradition of cider making in New England. Smith Devereux SB White Blend is refreshing and bright with notes of citrus and tropical fruit. You’ll detect gentle flavors of lemon and crisp apple that linger with the clean finish. We call it our SB blend because it is a proprietary blend of our favorite white varietals that tastes very much like a sauvignon blanc, but with a bit more complexity and pizazz. The name is also a nod to Devereux’s sons Sonny and Benjamin.
This gold medal winning crowd pleaser is fun, easy drinking, and perfect for the pool or for pairing with anything that would taste good with a squeeze of lemon or lime. Dry, crisp, and refreshing, with notes of citrus and hints of tropical flavors.
